I am a professional historian, bilingual teacher and National Lecturer Guide (agrée par l'Etat). A Bristol University Honours (2/1) graduate in History, a Masters from the UEA, the Sainsbury Centre for the Visual Arts, ten years a history teacher to university entrance, Guide-Conférencier des Monuments Historiques et des Sites (since 1991) based in Caen, author of 9 books on Normandy and aspects of 1944 history for the respected heritage publisher The History Press/Pitkin books.

Off season I work for the University of Caen attached to the Département de Droit et de Science Politiques and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Ingénieurs.

I have provided lectures on the Silver Cloud II, and Silver Seas cruises, and work both on private tours and with many agencies for coach parties. Over twenty years of battlefield experience I have built up an extensive and loyal client base. Every client goes away with a sense of my commitment to communicating the D-Day story in its own setting.

In high summer visits of Bayeux may be booked through the Tourist Office of my exclusive twice weekly bilingual evening "visites théatralisées" of the town.
